Shipping
We typically ship out on mondays, tuesdays and wednesdays in order to avoid chocolate deliveries being held over the weekends. Minimizing the time your package is in transit is our priority, no matter which shipping carrier you choose.
When selecting your shipping option, it’s important to take your local temperature into account. A good rule of thumb is if the temperature is above 66 degrees where you are, your chocolate order should not be allowed to travel for more than 2-3 days. So generally speaking, late fall/winter/early spring are the safest times to choose slower shipping options (USPS priority). Higher temperatures (between 66 - 75) need to arrive in 2 days (which is usually possible with USPS priority, but not guaranteed) and any location with temperatures higher than 75 should be shipped with Next Day Air services. The best way to guarantee the safe delivery of your chocolate during warmer temps is to select the “next day air” option. That being said, it is ultimately up to you.
We cannot be held responsible for melted chocolates if you choose slower shipping options (USPS Priority) when warm weather is expected at your destination During the summer, we may restrict the available shipping options to ensure safe delivery of your chocolates. If temps above 66 are expected at your location, we will pack your chocolates with ice packs and thermal protection (however these will only protect your goods for 24-36 hours so please choose faster delivery options if expecting warm temps!) If temps are spiking, we may delay shipping your order until cooler temps return. We encourage you to actively track your order, and make plans to receive it. The most common way that chocolate melts during transit is actually after delivery –– when it sits on a doorstep in direct sunlight or when it hangs out in a metal mailbox. This is why it is super important you are there to receive your package! Feel free to contact us for advice about shipping.
